why we started
After being laid off from her job, proprietor Amanda Horne decided to pursue her dream of opening her own coffee shop. In February 2009, she opened GrindHouse Coffee to cater to the North Portland neighborhood surrounding Rosa Parks Way and Denver Avenue.Amanda has been a barista since 1998 and over the years developing her passion for great coffee.
